VNC on raspberry pi

Remote login to Raspberry with tightvnc

Install tightvncserver server on Raspberry

sudo apt-get install tightvncserver

Run tightvncserver to set password

tightvncserver

Start server on pi

Use :1 if your Pi is running X11 by default (mine is)

vncserver :1 -geometry 1920x1080 -depth 24
vncserver :1 -geometry 1280x800 -depth 24
vncserver :1 -geometry 1024x768 -depth 24

kill server

vncserver -kill :1

Install realVNC client on OSX

Enable copy/paste between host and server

# install
sudo apt-get install autocutsel

# edit /home/pi/.vnc/xstartup
pico .vnc/xstartup 

# make it look like this
#!/bin/sh

xrdb $HOME/.Xresources
xsetroot -solid grey
# added 20150414 to get copy paste to work
autocutsel -fork
# x-terminal-emulator -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" &
# x-window-manager &
# Fix to make GNOME work
export XKL_XMODMAP_DISABLE=1
/etc/X11/Xsession
